The Jaguars Franchise League 50 over tournament continued its second round on Thursday with two washed out games along with a couple of wins.
Over at the Enterprise Ground, East Coast was beaten by six runs at the hands of West Berbice in a low-scoring encounter. Batting first, the Berbice franchise were bowled out for 145 in 37.2 overs with Raffel Estrado top-scoring with 32. The damage for East Coast was done by spinner Amir Khan who grabbed 4-33 while the Yadram brothers Bhaskar and Kamesh ended with two wickets apiece.
In reply, East Coast were rattled for 140 in 45.1 overs despite knocks from; Chandrapaul Hemraj 35, Kamesh Yadram 29 and Khan 30 as national pacer Keon Joseph bagged 3-17 but it was Stephen Harris with 4-15 who was the real star for West Berbice.
Veerasammy Permaul
Over at Albion, East Bank set out to bat and crumbled at 99 in 31.1 overs with Sherfane Rutherford top scoring with 22;Steven Jacobs, Sachin Singh as well as Sagar Hathiranmi were out cheaply for 20,17 and 16 runs, in that order. Lower Corentyne’s duo Sharaz Ramcharran and Veerasammy Permaul were the highlights of the day sweeping up the East Bank batting line up with Ramcharran collecting 4 wickets for 20 runs while Permaul chipped in with 3 wickets for 17 runs.
Lower Corentyne was undeniably in charge at this point as they went in to defend their performance and whipped up an unbeaten 102 for 2 in just 22.4 overs comfortably crushing East Bank by 8 wickets. The Star boys for the day were Kevlon Anderson who top scored with 40 runs while Gajanand Singh helped with 37.

Meanwhile, the games at Everest and Tuschen were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to unfavourable weather conditions which left the outfield in a state not suitable for play. Round 3 will take place on Saturday from 09:00 hours with East Coast doing battle with Georgetown at Enterprise, Essequibo taking on East Bank at Imam Bacchus;Lower Corentyne versus Upper Corentyne while West Berbice faces West Demerara at Bush Lot.
