Home News West Dem man rape trial starts today
A 12-member mixed jury was on Monday empanelled to hear the High Court case involving Alvin Rudder, a man accused of twice engaging in sexual activity with a child − a family member − at a village in West Demerara between July 1 and 31, 2013.
Charged in December 2013, the accused is currently on bail for the alleged offences.
The trial starts this morning, and the State is being represented by State Prosecutor Siand Dhurjohn. The case is being heard before Justice Navindra Singh at the current criminal session of the Demerara High Court.
