Guyana were given a rude awakening at the 2017 Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional under-17 Tournament being held in Trinidad and Tobago after stumbling to a 20-run defeat against Windward Islands on Tuesday.
Chasing 125 for victory from their allotted 50-overs, Guyana fell to 39 for 6 in the 25th over and was eventually bundled out for 105 in 45.2 overs. Captain Ashmead Nedd top scored with 14 at Gilbert Park.
Windward had made their 124 on the back of captain Kimani Melius (53) and Lee Solomon (22). Offs-spinner Kelvon Anderson took 5 for 34 from 7.4 overs.
Guyana will now face Leeward Islands on Thursday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy from 09:30 hrs.
