
The Geo City region erupted with excitement on Friday, as the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) showcased some of the nation’s most promising young talent at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).
The evening’s action-packed programme featured a series of commanding performances and standout individual displays that kept spectators on the edge of their seats.
Chase Academy secured a convincing 23–10 victory over School of Nations. Leading the charge was Sur Sampson, who delivered an impressive all-round performance with 15 points and eight rebounds to earn Player of the Match honours.

St Rose’s High produced one of the most dominant performances of the night, overwhelming The Bishop’s High B 51–8. Christian Williams spearheaded the offensive effort with 17 points and four rebounds, while Shaquan Callendar provided strong support with 15 points to seal the emphatic win.
In a closely contested encounter, Queen’s College edged The Bishop’s High A, 31–26, in a thrilling matchup. Darren Dublin proved instrumental with 14 points and four steals, while Deshawn Gurrick chipped in with 10 points to guide his team to victory.
The Geo City Regional continues to serve as a vibrant platform for youth development, highlighting emerging basketball talent while fostering discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among players.
