Zeelugt accident leaves 4 injured

Four persons were injured following a three-vehicle smash-up on the Zeelugt Public Road, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) on Saturday evening.

PXX 9896 after it toppled several times

Reports are that the accident occurred about 19:30h when motor car PXX 9896, driven by a Barnwell, EBE resident, was proceeding East on the northern side of the public road at a fast pace. Police reported that the car then collided with PGG 7041 driven by a Ruby Backdam, EBE resident as it was exiting a supermarket parking lot, located on the same public road. The car PXX 9896 toppled several times and then slammed into minibus BWW 4119 before coming to a halt.

The drivers and two occupants were rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital by public-spirited persons where they were treated, with the driver of PXX 9896 being transferred to the West Demerara Hospital for further treatment.
