In about three weeks, beauty, intelligence and charm will transcend to the Marriott Hotel as 10 young ladies will compete for the Miss World Guyana title. At the end of the competition, however, only one delegate will get the opportunity to represent Guyana on the international stage.
The final 10 delegates were selected after rigorous preliminary competitions from a pack of 14. The delegates were all assigned various regions to represent on the grand coronation night billed for June 25.
These include Miss Region One (Barima-Waini), Delisha Wright; Miss Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), Sharda Pramdeo; Miss Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), Hemwantie Seodat; Miss Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica), Vena Mookram; Miss Region Five (Mahaica-Berbice), Joelly Valentine; Miss Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), Thamesha Watson; Miss Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), Arielle Ghanie; Miss Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni), Crystal Wills; Miss Region Nine (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo), Manisha Wong; and Miss Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), Nitifah Thompson.
The delegates were sashed at an event hosted by Jamicia McCallman held at the Giftland Mall on May 26. The evening also saw a new collection by Designer, Marcie De Santos.
However, on the evening of the pageant, the delegates will be competing in several segments including evening gown and intelligence but more importantly, the finalists will present their beauty with a purpose project.
Pageant night is expected to be grand as reigning Miss World Guyana, Nuriyyah Gerrard, prepares to hand over her crown. Moreover, popular television personality and a pageant critic, Joel Ganshaam will be the host for the evening and he promises an epic evening with fun and laughter.
