1 injured after car slams into fence, turns turtle

A female driver is nursing injuries to her head and other parts of her body after the car she was driving turned turtle along the No 50 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, on Sunday evening.

The injured woman was identified as 23-year-old Karishma Gurahoo of No 47 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
Based on reports received, at about 19:00h on the day in question, the motor car bearing registration number PYY 6166 which was driven by the young lady was proceeding along the No 50 roadway at a fast rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right bend.

As a result, the vehicle reportedly collided with a wooden fence then toppled several times before ending up in a nearby trench.
She was pulled from the wreckage by public-spirited citizens in a conscious state and taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where she was treated and transferred to New Amsterdam Public Hospital.
There, she was admitted a patient suffering from head and other injuries about her body. Her condition is regarded as stable. An investigation has been launched into the accident.
