10 to vie for Senior Calypso Monarch this evening @ National Park

All roads will lead to the National Park this evening for the highly anticipated Calypso finals which will see 10 calypsonians competing for cash prizes and trophies. The event was originally held at Demerara Park but has now shifted to the National Park due to the fact that the crown has grown over the years.
This year, there will be lots of space for gyrating fans of the art form who are expected to flood the venue.
The semi-final of the competition was held in Lethem, Region Nine and after the semis, only 10 artistes have advanced to the final which is expected to be showdown of vocals. This year, as usual, the artistes have upped their games and will definitely put on a show.
Those contenting for the title of Calypso Monarch 2018 are Abigail James Nelson with her tune “No Ole Calypso”; Roger Hinds with “Ah Grading Dem Bandits”; T’Shanna Cort with “Secrets”; Manoel Ferriera will perform “Deh Frighten Green”; while Kenroy Fraser will do his part with “Doctor of Doom”. Clifton Adolphus will perform “Blaming Thing”; Onika Joseph will do her rendition titled “Woman is Boss”; Dawn Edwards will perform “I Have a Dream” and topping of the 10 are Jovinski Thorne with “Calypso” and Garfield Campbell with “Guyana Me Love”.
Gates to the National Park will open at 20:00h and the competition gets underway soon after. Admission is absolutely free. The event is once again promoted by the Government of Guyana and beverage King, Banks DIH Limited.
