147 arrests, 181 tickets issued for traffic offences in Berbice for 6 days

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force Regional Division Six (East Berbice-Corentyne), have arrested persons who were caught driving under the influence.
Those arrested and charged are 30-year-old Kemraj Cecil along with 42-year-old Troy Stewart.
Kemraj had a blood alcohol content level of 122 micrograms while Stewart had a total of 167 micrograms, Police said. They are expected to make a court appearance soon.
In addition, persons were also arrested and charged for being an unlicensed driver, breach of insurance, and uninsured motor vehicle.
According to a post on the Regional Division’s social media page, for the week of February 1 to 6, a campaign carried out by ranks in the region resulted in a total of 147 arrests, 181 tickets and seven summonses being administered by several stations within the region.
The Regional Division of Region Six has since been conducting several road exercises throughout the region with the aim of reducing disobedience of the traffic laws. (G15)
