2 granted bail for larceny, burglary

Dexwayne Evans also called “Packa” appeared before Magistrate Esther Sam on Tuesday at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court where he pleaded not guilty to a larceny charge.
Evans, who hails from Dartmouth, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), was arrested on March 24.
The charge read to him alleged that between October 10 and 12, 2020, at Cozier Backdam, Essequibo Coast, he stole 23 heads of cow valued at $3.5 million, property of Bernice Sooklall Rodrigues.
Following his not guilty plea, Evans was granted bail in the sum of $50,000. The matter has since been transferred to the Charity Magistrate’s Court for April 19, 2021.
Meanwhile, 46-year-old Paul Marciano of Water Lilly, Wismar, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice), appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts where he was slapped with a burglary charge. He appeared virtually before Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan and pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on March 21, he committed the offence on Devon Reece at Andyville, Wismar, Linden.
He was granted bail in the sum of $70,000 and will return to court on April 15, 2021.
