2 killed after motorcycle crashes into car in Linden

A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed on Monday evening after colliding with a motor car at Kara Kara, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara – Upper Berbice).

One of the dead men has only been identified as ‘Isiah’ of Wismar, Linden. According to information received, the two men were travelling on the motorcycle at a fast rate and in the vicinity of the Kara Kara bus shed, the driver collided with a motor car.
The two men fell onto the roadway and sustained severe injuries about their bodies and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Up until late Monday evening, the police were still conducting their investigations.
Only recently, the Police Commander of Region 10, Assistant Commissioner Kurleigh Simon, echoed his concerns regarding the increase in fatal accidents in his division. He has reported that fatal and serious accidents have seen a 42 per cent increase.
