2 nabbed, 1 on the run for Albouystown teen’s murder
A second teen has been arrested and Police are searching for one more in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Jumal Parks of Non Pariel Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, who was brutally beaten and stabbed to death by three teenagers on Tuesday last.
This was confirmed by Regional Commander Simon Mc Bean, who told this publication that the case file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DDP) for advice.
Parks was killed on Front Road, West Ruimveldt, while he was at his place of work – Wanita’s Wash Bay. Police said the act was committed by a 19-year-old labourer of Hunter Street, La Penitence; an 18-year-old unemployed male of West Ruimveldt along with a 17-year-old unemployed male of East La Penitence, Georgetown.
Reports are one of the suspects, who was armed with a piece of wood, visited the car wash and reportedly called out to the now dead teen. The teen did not pay heed but the suspects advanced towards him, thus resulting in him running into a nearby house where he was stabbed to the left side chest and his right upper arm.
The stabbing was reportedly done by the 19-year-old while the others dealt him several blows about his body with pieces of wood.
Following the incident, the teen was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead. (G9)
