2nd suspect in LBI robbery arrested

The person who was with 20-year-old Kevin Thomas, also called “Cross-eye”, who was shot by Police following a robbery has been arrested.
Reports are the man was nabbed on Wednesday and was being questioned in connection with a daring motorcycle robbery that left an accomplice dead at Victoria Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
According to Regional Police Commander of Division Four (C), Assistant Commissioner Royston Andries-Junor, the accomplice was arrested and was currently assisting with investigations.
On Monday, Thomas, of Plum Park, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was fatally shot by Police after he and his accomplice opened fire on ranks following their theft of a motorcycle from a premises at La Bonne Intention (LBI), ECD.
Thomas and his accomplice had stolen the motorcycle and were heading to Sophia, but upon noticing the duo’s suspicious actions, a mobile Police patrol decided to follow them.
After seeing the Police vehicle, the two young men decided to manoeuvre through several streets on an Elite motorcycle with registration number CK 1893, with the Police patrol in hot pursuit.
According to Police, they were closing in on the suspects when the pillion rider drew a handgun and started firing at them. They returned fire, hitting the motorcyclist and both riders subsequently fell off the bike. The shooter managed to get up and escape while Thomas remained on the ground.
He was picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he succumbed while receiving medical attention.
Thomas was no stranger to the Police after past infringements of the law.
