Multiplex Mall owner’s murder
The Preliminary Inquiry into the murder of the Multiplex Mall owner, Ganesh Ramlall, 48, continued on Friday at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Kurt Erskine of Lot 285 Section C Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, Fazeel Bacchus of Cornelia Ida, WCD, and Lennox Roberts of Tushen Housing Scheme, WCD, were all charged for the murder of Ramlall.
On Friday, three Police witnesses gave evidence before the presiding Magistrate. They all testified about their role in the investigations. The case will continue on August 8, when another three witnesses are expected to testify.
Ramlall was shot five times on July 5, 2015, at his home by four armed men. According to reports, the man had just returned home from a barbeque and was in the process of using an outdoor lavatory was he was attacked and shot.
Information is that the man was shot to his head and chest. The bandits reportedly stripped the man of his jewellery and wallet before making good their escape.
Ramlall was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The dead man’s wife has already testified as to what she witnessed on the fatal night.
