33 charged as Operation Safe Road kicks off in NA

Thirty-three persons were charged in New Amsterdam on Monday for different traffic violations as the police launched Operation Safe Road.

Among those charged on Monday were seven drivers for tinted motor glass and 10 for failing to wear a seat belt. The campaign also saw three persons being arrested for poor maintenance of their tire, eight for obscure number plates, one each for careless driving, stopping within 30 feet of a corner and causing obstruction. In addition, one driver was charged for breach of restriction on domestic travel. There was one driver who was found to be unlicensed, he too was charged. (G4)
