The injured persons were extricated and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment.
At time of the accident, the vehicle, PSS 624, was being driven by a 25-year-old male resident of Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

The Fire Service, in a statement, has appealed to citizens to be cautious on the roadways. “Speeding continues to be one of the leading causes of accidents, some of which claimed the lives of both young and old. Citizens are therefore urged to buckle up, slow down, and adhere to the traffic laws in place to ensure safety on the roadways,” the Fire Service has said.
Only a few days ago, Traffic Chief Superintendent Ramesh Ashram called for drivers to be more cautious on the roadways. He said it is not only the duty of the Police to enforce road safety, but it is also the responsibility of the public to be safe on the roadways.
