A total of 44 motorcycles were detained during a traffic enforcement exercise conducted within Regional Police Division Six on Friday. The operation, which according to the Guyana Police Force (GPF) was led by a senior police officer and is part of the Division’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with traffic laws and improve road safety across the region. According to police, the motorcycles were detained for various traffic-related offences. Following the exercise, the vehicles were lodged at the Whim and Rose Hall Police Stations.

Police also served notices for the revocation and suspension of Certificates of Fitness for a number of the motorcycles. The notices were issued pending examinations by a Licensing and Certifying Officer. In addition to targeting motorcycles, police ranks stopped and inspected several motor vehicles as part of the operation. Officers continued enforcement activities throughout the Division, checking compliance with traffic regulations and addressing breaches of the law.
The exercise is part of GPF’s traffic enforcement campaign aimed at promoting safer road use and ensuring that motorists comply with legal requirements.
