6-year-old drowns in reservoir at Tiger Creek Backdam

The lifeless body of 6-year-old Travis Dwayne Jacobis, also called “Junior”, has been found floating in a reservoir pond at Tiger Creek Backdam in Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni).
Based on reports received, the now dead child, of Wismar Housing Scheme, Linden, Region Ten, was with his grandmother, who works as a cook at a mining camp at Tiger Creek.
The woman told detectives that, between 11:30h and 12:30h, the child was with her in the kitchen as she prepared lunch for the workers. After some time had elapsed and she did not notice the child, she checked around the camp, and immediately raised an alarm.
A search party was assembled and, upon checking the area, a pair of slippers belonging to the child was seen floating in a reservoir pond.
Upon seeing this, a miner jumped into the 10-foot-deep reservoir and brought up the unconscious body of Jacobis. He was rushed to the Mahdia District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body is at the Mahdia Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post mortem.
