Ganja in freezer

A Haslington, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man, who alleged that he is a cancer patient, found himself slapped with a narcotics trafficking charge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday morning.
Sixty-year-old Edgar Bollers of Lot 949 Haslington, ECD, denied he had 27 kilograms 170 grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking on May 7, 2018 at Haslington.
Reports are the man was arrested after the cannabis was found hidden in a freezer at his ECD home.
Reports are an intelligence-led operation saw members of the Police Narcotics Branch visiting the man’s home at Haslington, where a search was conducted, and five well taped parcels of the compressed marijuana were unearthed.
In court on Tuesday, Police Prosecutor Gordan Mansfield stated that the case file has been completed.
As such, Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan remanded the 60-year-old to prison. The case will continue on May 29 at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court.
