DeSinco employee charged for embezzlement

An employee of DeSinco Trading Limited was slapped with two charges of embezzlement and appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday.
Rawle Peters, 33, of Lot 22 Garnett Street, Wortmanville, Georgetown, stood before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and denied the charges.
He denied that on February 22, 2018, at Georgetown, while being a clerk or servant of DeSinco Trading Limited, he fraudulently embezzled $164,721 taken by him for or in the name of DeSinco Trading.
Additionally, on February 28, 2018, at DeSinco Trading, he embezzled $288,648.
The prosecution had no objections to bail but requested that Peters report weekly to the Criminal Investigation Department.
As such, he was placed on $200,000 bail. The case will continue on June 1.
