Home News 8 to do community service for breaching COVID-19 restrictions
Eight Kwakwani (Upper Berbice River), Region 10 residents were sentenced to perform community service by Magistrate Wanda Fortune when they appeared virtually at the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge of breaching restriction on social activities. Joshua Grannum, Jermaine Downer, Kevin Plass, Treasha Downer, Naisha Hyderkhan, Atiya Smith and Nichola and Sheon Gordon all pleaded guilty to the charge and were each sentenced to three hours of community service. The Magistrate ordered that the community service is to be completed by September 18, failure in which will result in a default sentence of one week’s imprisonment.
