At the end of Day 17 of the National Elections Recount, votes from 928 of the 2,339 ballot boxes were recounted.
The tabulation exercise has ascertained that there were 22,042 more votes for the People’s Progressive Party Civic in Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica); and 28,128 more for the coalition APNU/AFC.
A total of 87 ballot boxes were counted across the regions on Day 17, and this has again led PPP/C Executive Member Anil Nandall to call for the Guyana Elections Commission to install additional workstations in order to accelerate the process.
Friday’s ballot-box count has been the highest since the process started.
