Chris Pollard, of Lot 46 Durban Street, Georgetown, a well-known character to the Police, was on Wednesday placed before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts after he was slapped with a charge of simple larceny.
The 19-year-old appeared before Magistrate Faith McGusty and denied the charges which stated that on February 19 at Croal Street, Georgetown, he robbed Jasmine Patricia of a Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued $44,000.
While no facts were presented in court on Wednesday, Police Prosecutor Annalisa Brummel objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant has five pending matters of similar nature in another court.
