Technician electrocuted while fixing Internet connection

An internet technician attached to Re-Link Wireless Internet Service was on Sunday electrocuted while fixing an internet connection at Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden, Region 10 (Upper Demerara-Berbice).
The dead man has been identified as 19-year-old Anthony Monroe of Lot 4364 Central Amelia’s Ward, Mackenzie, Linden.
Based on reports received, the now-dead teenager and another colleague were tasked with the maintenance of internet service.
According to information received, they were in the process of installing a metal pole which is about 38 feet in length, into the earth’s surface in the yard which is within close proximity of a few electrical wires. However, the pole accidentally touched the electric wires, causing them to receive electric shocks about their bodies.
Monroe was immediately picked up by his colleague and rushed to the Linden Hospital complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The body of Monroe is presently laying at the De Jestco’s Funeral Parlour awaiting post-mortem. Investigations are ongoing.
