CPL final tickets on sale from August 5 in Guyana

For the first time in history, Caribbean Premier League (CPL) finals will be played in Guyana, at the National Stadium at Providence. Ticket sales for the group games in Guyana started in July, but the sales for the finals will commence on Friday, August 5 at the CPL box office at 233-234 Camp Street, Georgetown. Additionally, tickets would also be available online for purchase.

In an interview with CPL Head of Marketing, Chris Watson, this publication was made to understand that ticket prices for qualifiers (Qualifier one, and two, and the eliminator) would remain the same as the Warriors home games, with tickets starting from Gy$2500 (grass mound).

Orange Stand tickets for the Qualifiers are being sold at $3300, Red Stand tickets are selling at $5500, and Green Stand tickets are being sold for $6000. Meanwhile, for the final, tickets would start from Gy$3000 (grass mound). Orange stand tickets would be $4000, Red Stand tickets would be $6000 and green stand tickets would be $6500.
CPL 2022 will be played in St Kitts, St Lucia, Trinidad and Guyana. According to Watson, reactions have been good from the fans. “Across all four of our locations this year, the sales have been really strong, and the reaction has been huge. Particularly in Guyana, the new box office in Camp Street, the guys have seen great level of interests, with some games sold out already. So, it has been a strong reaction.

“Surprisingly, for some of the neutral games, 10 in the morning has been on sale, and it shows how hungry fans are to come out to a more normal CPL,” he said.
“We have not been able to put on games in Guyana since 2019, so we are really excited to bring a more normal CPL this year,” Watson told this daily publication.
While the 2022 CPL is historic for Guyanese, with the final being played at Providence, the 6IXTY, and the Women’s CPL will be played this season. Therefore, fans would have more cricket to look forward to.
“We are very excited to have a 6IXTY and the Women’s CPL. Two extra events, so it is a great step for us. We have always wanted to do more for Women’s cricket since our exhibition games in 2019.
“This is something we want to grow. 6IXTY is talked about all around the world, the shorter format. Getting the tournament done in five days is great for players’ availability and the innovations that make the game evolving. Lots for the fans to be excited for.”
Watson is also encouraging fans to pick up tickets early, since the finals will be high in demand, and the Cricket Carnival will be in Guyana. The Guyana Amazon Warriors’ home leg starts on September 21 and ends on Sept 25.
On September 21, Barbados Royals will face St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots from 10:00h, followed by Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs coming against each other from 19:00h.
Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots clash from 10:00h on September 22, before Warriors play St. Lucia Kings from 19:00h. The lone match on September 24 is Knight Riders and Amazon Warriors from 19:00h.
On September 25, Tallawahs and Kings play the morning fixture, and the Warriors will face the Royals from 19:00h to conclude the tournament’s group matches.
The 10th season of CPL bowls off on August 31 at Warner Park in St. Kitts, and concludes on September 30 at the National Stadium at Providence, Guyana.
Prior to the CPL, the Warriors will play in a new 60-ball tournament called the 6IXTY, from August 24-28 in St. Kitts. The box office opening hours will be 9:00h to 17:00h (Monday-Friday) and 9:00h to 13:00h (Saturdays)
