Mason avoids jailtime by compensating wounding victim

A 32-year-old mason has saved himself from jailtime after he compensated a man $250,000 following a felonious wounding charge.

Jamel Taylor of Graham Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara was arraigned before Sparendaam Magistrate Alisha George on a charge of felonious wounding that alleged that, on January 15, 2023, he wounded Winston Munroe. However, the case was dismissed on Friday after Taylor compensated Munroe.
