Antiguan nabbed at CJIA with cocaine

An outgoing passenger destined for Toronto, Canada, was on Friday morning nabbed with a quantity of cocaine at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.cocaine

The Antiguan was reportedly seen acting in a suspicious manner by ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch and asked for a search to be conducted on her luggage.

During the search, 2.5 kilograms of cocaine was found concealed in her carryon suitcase. She was immediately taken into custody and grilled. She is expected to be charged shortly.

Only recently, a resident of West Demerara who has been on the Police radar for some time was nabbed at the CJIA after admitting that he had swallowed a quantity of cocaine pellets.

He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he excreted at least 91 of the pellets with a total of almost one kilogram.

The 46-year-old man was an outgoing passenger and was destined for the USA.
