Auditions for Miss Guyana Princess Pageant set for May 25 at Theatre Guild

The annual Miss Guyana Princess Pageant under the artistic direction of Nandre’s Kreations is poised to produce yet another pageant that caters to the pre-teen participants between the ages of eight and 12 years old.
Auditions for applicants will be held on Saturday, May 25, at the Theatre Guild Playhouse commencing at 09:00h.
After the audition and orientation, the girls will be presented to the public at a launching ceremony and charity fashion show in The Theatre Guild’s Eucalyptus Garden on Sunday, July 21.
Proceeds from the fashion launch will go towards displaced Radio Broadcaster Mia Ritchie-Comacho and family, who lost their D’Urban Backlands home to a fire in April of this year.
Patrons will be treated to collections from local designers and the show promises to create yet another fun, family-oriented afternoon featuring some “tiny tot” models.
The Miss Guyana Princess Pageant was designed to provide each participant with the opportunity to promote school, community, talent and culture and at the same time learn more about the other participants while encouraging networking, integration and promoting social cohesion among our children.
The princesses are each given pageant names after Disney Princesses who were characters of strength, poise, beauty and bravery.
Traditionally, the role of women in society have been greatly overlooked, however, in these contemporary times, women are empowered and emboldened to take revolutionary action that drives change within our society.
The Miss Guyana Princess Pageant is slated for Sunday, August 18, at the National Cultural Centre with an interesting twist – the princesses will be presenting on outstanding and empowering Guyanese women.
