Bent Street, Back Circle to battle for place in final

Defending champions Bent Street will oppose Back Circle while Sparta  Boss  will be pitted against Sophia in the semi-finals of the 2nd GT Beer sponsored Petra Organized Futsal Championships after the quarter-finals were played on Tuesday evening at the National Gymnasium.
Bent Street defeated West Back Road 2-0 via two spectacular goals off the feet of Okeene Fraser and Anthony Abrams.  Fraser’s right foot scorcher came in the 13th minute while Abrams shot entered the top left of the net in the 16th minute.
The Back Circle match against Broad Street Back proved to be one of the most trilling matches of  evening as  it had the massive audience in a frenzy with their back and forth  attacks. At the end of the engrossing fixture, the former won 2-1 via goals from, Curtez Kellman (26th) and Akeemo Anthony (29th); Keiron Solomon was the other scorer in the 32nd minute.
Likewise, the Sophia and Tucville match-up had a similar effect, with Sophia edging ahead 3-2. Sophia took the early lead via Shemroy Arthur conversion in the 7th minute while two minutes later Dwayne Lowe added the second.

Jermin Junior reduced the lead before half time when he netted in the 13th minute to create a decisive second half.  Tucville had numerous chances to level the scores but often too many times, they failed to execute fully. Their lack of conversions came to haunt them when Sheik Kamal added a third goal in the 25th but Jahaal Greaves gave his side a sniff once more when he scored in the 28th minute.
In the final game of the night, Devon Millington’s 39th minute strike allowed Sparta Boss to beat North East La Penitence 2-1.
Millington’s goal came after the scored were tied at 1-1 via an own goal in the 35th prior to a Kelvin Moore goal in the 30th minute.
The winner of the tournament is set to pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy while the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $200,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively and the correspondingly accolade.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP)  of the championship will pocket $50,000 and a trophy, while the Highest Goal Scorer and Best Goalkeeper will walkway with $25,000 each and the respective accolades.
Meanwhile, in the two exhibition fixtures, Customs defeated Upper Level 4-1 and Green Ice wining 2-1 against Pretty Posse.
In addition to the title sponsor, NAMILCO and Star Party Rentals have also pledged their support of the tournament.
The tournament will continue Saturday while its grand finale will be Easter Saturday, April 15.
