Ross leading Guyana’s jockey standing with 11 wins

After a scintillating Emancipation Cup earlier this month, jockey Colin Ross is enjoying a comfortable lead on the points table.
Ross has 11 wins this season. with five second spots for a total of 73 points. His total earnings from races this season are GY$1,210,500.
Young jockey Yovin Kissoonchand has recorded eight wins and five second spots in his 36 starts this season with 66 points; seven points behind Ross.
Ronaldo Appadu, in his 31st start, has six wins and nine second spots. Bharrat Ramnarain is fourth on the jockey table, with four wins and three second places, followed by Quinton Kellman in fifth.

The other riders in the top 10 heading into the Guyana Cup are Michael Semple, Dillon Khelawan, Arvin Dhanraj, Delwin Anderson, and Drepaul Yhap.
A total of 14 races will be running at this year’s Guyana Cup, and more than GY$66 million in cash and prizes will be paid out.
The Banks Guyana Cup feature race will fetch a purse of GY$22 million.
General admission tickets are GY$5000, VVIP experience is GY$25,000, and private VIP decks are GY$500,000.
A brand new four-door SinoTruk pick-up will be up for the taking from the raffle exercise. The raffle ticket locations are located at the Jumbo Jet office in Smyth Street, JS Supermarket, Js Outlet, and Poonai’s Pharmacy. The raffle ticket cost GY$2000.
This Guyana Cup will be one of significant differences, with the event being for the entire family. A kid zone will be in place, and a host of prizes will be rewarded on the day.
The Guyana Cup also has additional parking and more screens at the venue to offer a more visible and enjoyable race day.
The races will be only a 45-minute ride away from Georgetown, and fans from across the Caribbean are expected to be in attendance to witness the most high-profile racing event in Guyana’s history.

BM Soat Locally Bred Dash (5 ½ furlongs) – Total purse: GY$2,812,500

P Jagdeo E-Class (One Mile) – Total purse: GY$2,812,500
Jagmohan F-Class (One Mile) – Total purse: GY$1,875,000
