Bent Street, Sparta Boss headline dominant wins as Stars among Stars futsal kicks off

The Stars among Stars Futsal competition got underway at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue with two nights of dominant performances and high-scoring encounters as teams got their campaigns going in the early group stage fixtures of the tournament.
On the opening night, Sunday, May 3, Bent Street B delivered one of the most emphatic results, brushing aside Young Stars 5–0. Gold is Money also stamped their authority with a 7–0 demolition of Pike Street Sports Bar, while Sparta Boss produced the biggest margin of victory with an 8–0 thrashing of Ballers Family. Team Immaculate secured a comfortable 3–0 win over Marad Ballers, and Team Family defeated Determine Ballers 4–1.
Several matches were more closely contested. Kingston edged North Ruimveldt 3–2, while Laing Avenue got past Corinthians 2–1. The clash between East Coast All Stars and Make It Happen ended 3–3 in regulation time, but East Coast All Stars held their composure to prevail 4–2 on penalties.

Action continued on Monday, May 4, with another round of decisive results. Herstelling recorded a 5–1 win over Albouystown, while Leopold Street defeated Spanish 4–1 and Team Spirit overcame Unity Ballers 4–2. Broad Street secured a 3-1 victory against Avocado Ballers, and Bent Street A got a 4–0 result against Team Madrid.
Festival City edged Team Cruel 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter, while Back Circle blanked Pablo City 2–0. North East advanced via walkover after Stevedore failed to show up for their fixture.
The competition offers a top prize of $1.5 million, with $700,000, $400,000 and $200,000 set aside for the second-, third- and fourth-place finishers, respectively.
Play is scheduled to resume on Saturday, May 9, at the same venue, as teams continue their pursuit of the championship title.
