Berbice man chopped to head by girlfriend during argument

Police in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) are on the hunt for a Corentyne woman who allegedly chopped her boyfriend to his head during an argument late Monday night.
Injured is 29-year-old Parmanand Thakur, a taxi driver of Number 60 Village, Corentyne. The incident took place about 22:30h at the suspect’s Number 68 Village, Corentyne home.
Thakur told investigators that he had gone to visit his girlfriend, Radika Hardeo, at her home and while there, an argument broke out between them.
During the row, the man said Hardeo reportedly armed herself with a cutlass and dealt him a single chop to his head.
The injured man further told investigators that he then jumped in his motor vehicle and drove to the Skeldon Public Hospital, where he was treated and sent away.
The matter was reported to the Police later that night, and checks were made for the suspect at her Number 68 Village home, but she was not found.
Investigations are ongoing.
