Body of handyman found at businessman’s residence

The body of a 48-year-old handyman was found early Monday morning on the verandah of a businessman’s home at Belle West Squatting Area, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Dead is Lalta Persaud of Lot 359 Belle West Squatting Area, WBD. Reports are the man died sometime between 22:00h on Sunday and 07:00h on Monday at Lot 142 Belle West Squatting Area, WBD.
This newspaper was told by Persaud’s relatives that he was an alcoholic who was suffering from epilepsy.
According to the police, further investigations revealed that on Sunday at about 22:00h, Persaud was seen alive and well at his home but he was talking to himself. On Monday, at about 07:00h, Persaud was found lying motionless on the western verandah of a businessman’s home in his village. The body was examined by the police but no marks of violence were seen.
The body was escorted by the police to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where Persaud was pronounced dead. The body is at Ezekiel Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem.
