Andre Boyce triumphed in the 2026 Cue Sports Association Guyana (CSAG) and Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) National 8-Ball Championship after emerging as the top performer in the four-day tournament, which concluded on Sunday, July 12.
Boyce displayed consistency and composure during the final rounds to secure the national title ahead of Jerry Josie, who finished second after producing several strong performances during the knockout stages.
Mario Albert and Ritick Persaud shared third place, while Jameel De Agrella, Anthony Xavier, Parsram Sobhai and McQuain Smith were also among the leading finishers.
The championship began on July 4 and featured 70 players from Georgetown, East Bank Demerara, West Bank Demerara, West Coast Demerara, Berbice, Linden, East Coast Demerara, and Essequibo.
According to the organisers, the wide regional representation made the competition one of the most diverse and competitive tournaments staged by the association.

CSAG President Steven Persaud congratulated Boyce and said the turnout demonstrated the continued growth of the sport locally.
“The talent on display this year has been nothing short of extraordinary,” Persaud said. “To see 70 players from so many different regions coming together proves that cue sports are thriving in Guyana.”
Persaud also extended congratulations to the other leading players for their performances throughout the tournament.
MMG Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Singh said the company was pleased to support a championship that promoted sporting excellence and provided opportunities for players from different parts of the country.
Singh said the tournament highlighted the discipline, determination and competitive spirit of Guyana’s athletes, while commending the association for its work in developing cue sports.
MMG invested GY$250,000 as the title sponsor of the championship. Support was also provided by D&L Sports Bar, Suraj Sports Bar, Sunil & Son Pool Bar, and Boat House Sports Bar.
The association thanked the sponsors, members, players and supporters who contributed to the successful staging of the tournament.
