“Buse out” lands several persons in court

Twenty-three-year-old construction worker and barber Kwame Carmichael of Onderneeming, La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara was on Thursday arraigned before Wales Magistrate Rushell Liverpool on a charge of assaulting his neighbour Wesley Montaser, and using threatening language against him on August 3rd at Onderneeming, WBD.

Unrepresented by legal counsel, Carmichael denied the charges, and was placed on $20,000 bail and a bond to keep the peace pending the outcome of his trial. His matter was adjourned to September 7.

In a separate matter, Lestor Raymond, a miner from Goed Fortuin Squatting Area, WBD, pleaded not guilty to using abusive language towards Arte Sugrim and threatening language toward Karen Sugrim, on July 10 last.

Magistrate Liverpool, taking into account that the miner had appeared in court on a previous charge, placed Raymond on $20,000 bail and ordered that he return to court on September 14.
