Spectators at the Goring Cricket Club Ground in England were in for a treat as they witnessed the West Indian flair from Guyanese all-rounder Kellon Carmichael, who blasted 176 from 117 balls on Saturday.
Carmichael entered the crease with his team in a spot of bother at 16-2, but wasted little time as he played a scintillating knock that included 13 fours and 11 sixes to guide Goring Cricket Club to 248 all out from 43 overs.
Ben Cartwright and Matt Keen were the next best scorers in Goring’s innings, with 21 apiece.
Carmichael then returned to snare 2-26 from 11.5 overs, as his team mate Aaron Wyatt ripped through Stirlands Cricket Club’s innings with figures of 5-20. The visitors folded for a paltry 96 all out in 44 overs.
This season, the former Guyana Under-19 player has been enjoying his best stint in England in his three years of playing professional cricket there. He has now recorded two centuries and two half-centuries to date, while also being outstanding with the ball for his team in the Sussex Premier League.
