Fifty-five-year-old Mukesh Binda, called “Patch-head,” from Number 43 Village, Corentyne, Region Six, was on Wednesday granted $300,000 bail after being charged with stealing several heads of cattle.

Binda appeared before Magistrate Tuanna Hardy at the Number 51 Magistrate’s Court, where the charge was read to him, which stated that on May 16, 2026, at Johanna Backdam, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, he stole three heads of cattle belonging to Parmanand Toolsie.
Binda was not required to plead to the indictment and was granted $300,000 bail. He will make his next court appearance on June 17 at the Mibikuri Magistrate’s Court.
It was reported that Toolsie, a cattle and rice farmer of Lot 12 Johanna South, Black Bush Polder, discovered eight of his cattle missing while penning his animals on the afternoon of May 16 at Johanna Backdam.
Police said the missing animals included one grey bull, one dark brown bull, and one grey heifer branded “89NC,” reportedly valued at $1 million.
Investigators said that, acting on information received, Toolsie went to Binda’s home at Number 43 Village, where he discovered five of his missing cattle inside a pen located at the back of the property.
According to the police report, Toolsie confronted Binda and accused him of stealing the animals. Police said Binda allegedly responded that the cattle had followed his own flock into the pen the previous evening and that he was unable to chase them away.
Investigators further stated that Binda then opened the pen, and the cattle ran away. Meanwhile, the remaining three missing heads of cattle were not located.
