Exciting Cricket action unfolded on May 3 across various venues in Georgetown as the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Under-17 Eline Security Logistics 50-Over tournament continued with two competitive encounters.
At the Malteenoes Sports Club ground, GT XI won the toss and elected to bowl against the home side, Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC). The decision proved costly as MSC compiled a commanding 262 for 8 from their allotted 50 overs.

Leading the charge was Shane Shivbarran, who produced a magnificent innings of 133 from 132 balls. His knock was decorated with seven fours and four sixes, anchoring the MSC innings with composure and authority. He received valuable support from Kyle Gibson, who made 31, and Nathaniel Ramkallawan, who contributed 27 to bolster the total.
Zahid Talkudar was the pick of the bowlers for GT XI with 3 for 39, while Jamal Samuels, Aditya Khan, Elija Mohamed, and Ajay Kissoon each claimed one wicket.
In reply, GT XI struggled to build partnerships and were eventually restricted to 101 all out in 35 overs. Ajay Kissoon top scored with 17, Tyrell King made 16, and Jamal Samuels remained unbeaten on 14. MSC’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Tyler Nedd and Nathaniel Ramkallawan picking up three wickets each to secure a comprehensive victory for the home side.

Meanwhile, at the Transport Sports Club ground, Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) won the toss and opted to bat first against Transport Sports Club (TSC).
GCC were bowled out for 136 in 24 overs, with Ravaldo Pereira leading the way with 35. Trilok Nanan added 24, while Aaron Persaud chipped in with 23. Riaz Latif was outstanding with the ball, claiming 4 wickets, while Afraz Khan and Prosper Jacobus supported with two wickets apiece.
In response, TSC’s chase was ignited by a blistering knock from Emmanuel Lewis, who smashed 64 from just 28 balls, including nine fours and three sixes. However, despite his explosive innings, TSC fell just short of the target.
Shamer Apple’s 22 was the only other double-figure contribution as TSC were bowled out for 129 in 23.1 overs. Ravaldo Pereira returned to have a significant impact with the ball, taking 3 for 18, while Shahid Ramzan supported with 2 for 10.
Georgetown Cricket Club emerged victorious by a narrow margin of seven runs, wrapping up an entertaining day of Under-17 cricket in Georgetown.
