BHS ‘A’, Marian Academy and St Rose’s shine – YBG Schools’ Basketball…

The Geo City Regional leg of the Youth Basketball League tipped off in exciting fashion on May 3 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH), delivering three competitive matchups and standout individual performances.

Bishops’ high ‘A’ dominates
The Bishops’ High School ‘A’ secured a commanding 49–12 victory over The Bishops’ High ‘B’ in the opening game of the day.
Leading the charge was Player of the Game Eli Archer, who delivered an impressive double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Archer’s presence in the paint set the tone early, as Bishops A controlled both ends of the floor.
Yisdalayah Yisrael provided strong support with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four steals, showcasing her all-around ability and defensive intensity.

Action in the Youth Basketball League

For The Bishops High B, Nkosi Griffith fought hard despite the loss, finishing with seven points and 10 rebounds in a determined effort.

Marian academy cruises past nations
Marian Academy produced another dominant performance, defeating School of the Nations 50–13.
Lucas Pinol earned Player of the Game honors after recording 14 points and 11 rebounds to anchor Marian’s attack. Nhyl George contributed 12 points and nine rebounds, while Emmanuel added eight points and four steals, helping to keep the defensive pressure high throughout the contest.
School of the Nations saw Jedia Wilson lead their effort with six points and six rebounds.

St rose’s high secures solid win
In the final game of the day, St. Rose’s High defeated Queens College 44–28 in a competitive matchup.
Shaquan Callendar was named Player of the Game after posting 12 points and 13 rebounds in a dominant display inside. Christian Williams poured in a game-high 15 points, while Jeremy Chung added 11 points and nine rebounds to round out a balanced offensive effort for St. Rose’s.
For Queens College, Deshawn Gurrick led the scoring with six points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Geo City Regionals continue to highlight the depth of young basketball talent across the schools. The tournament is proudly sponsored by Edward B.
