Chater hattrick headlines Summer Super Cup action

Deon Chater produced a brilliant hat-trick as Eagles Football Club (FC) cruised to a commanding 3-0 victory over Silver Shattas FC, while TOPP XX FC and Coomaka FC shared the points following a hard-fought goalless draw when the Summer Super Cup 2026 continued on Wednesday evening at the Bayroc National Stadium, Linden.

In the opening fixture, TOPP XX FC and Coomaka FC were unable to be separated after a disciplined defensive display from both teams resulted in a 0-0 stalemate.
Neither side created many clear-cut opportunities as the contest was largely dominated by organised defending and midfield battles. Both coaches introduced several substitutions in the second half in search of a breakthrough, but neither attack could find the finishing touch as the teams settled for a point apiece.
The second encounter belonged to Eagles FC and, in particular, Deon Chater.
Chater gave Eagles the lead in the 27th minute to send his side into the halftime break with a 1-0 advantage. He doubled the lead three minutes after the restart in the 48th minute before completing a superb hat-trick with his third goal in the 66th minute, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Silver Shattas FC.
Sunday’s action had also produced plenty of excitement, with Botofago FC defeating Blueberry Hill FC 5-3 in an eight-goal thriller.
M. Davidson led the charge with goals in the ninth and 17th minutes, while Jermaine Maison struck twice in the 41st and 45th minutes to put Botofago firmly in control before halftime. Rodwell Wong added the fifth goal in the 74th minute.
Blueberry Hill responded through a brace from Shaka Lewis and a goal from Shane Hudson in the 75th minute, but their late rally was not enough to prevent defeat.
In the day’s other fixture, Pdey Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Hi-Stars, courtesy of Shawn Wilson’s 71st-minute strike.
The Summer Super Cup 2026, which offers more than $4 million in cash prizes, continues until August 29 at the Bayroc National Stadium. The competition is being contested by 14 teams and is played on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays, with clubs continuing their battle for the coveted championship title.
