After revelling in the Mashramani Costume and Float Parade on February 23, the action continues at the Better Home Community Centre Ground, East Coast Demerara with “Chutney Fest”. This event is primarily sponsored by Carib and will feature several chutney singers including reigning Chutney Monarch, Bunty Singh.
In addition, there will be members of the Shakti String Orchestra and one of the East Coast’s very own, Vicadi Singh, who is also competing in the Chutney Monarch completion which gets underway this weekend and will culminate on February 17.
However, adding some flare to the evening will be the versatile and energetic Granny Ivelaw and members of the Shalita Dance Troupe. Before the artistes and band take to the stage, the deejays will ensure that the mood for a fantastic evening is set.
These deejays include Father Moey, Golden Chyld, and Deejay Stephan from the Number 71 Sound. Tickets can be uplifted on the purchase of a Carib Special at selected supermarkets and bars. This is one event you do not want to miss.
