Competition heats up in Pee Wee tournament

It was a day of upsets and twists as the Pee Wee Under -11 football action continued.
The day’s 16-match schedule featured players showing off the best of their skills to lead their teams to victory.
In the first encounter of the day, Jerimiah Parks led Colaaco to their second win after hitting a much needed penalty on target against F.E. Pollard Primary.
Their matchup was followed by a heated encounter between Mocha Arcadia and Tucville Primary, who were battling for the top spot in Group ‘D’. Mocha, underdogs of the day, hindered the usually powerful Tucville team from equalising. Emanuel Tinch’s one was not enough to match Mathew Murray’s two, which saw the encounter ending 2-1 in Mocha’s favour.
Another Group ‘D’ encounter saw Den Amstel and J.E. Burnham each receiving a chance to collect some points after suffering losses to the two more aggressive teams in the group. Sahle Butts was the golden boy for J.E. Burnham, scoring two goals, trumping Keshawn Humphrey’s one for Den Amstel.
St. Pius continued in fine form, this time overcoming Victoria 5-1. Chance Niles’s hat-trick and two from Kaden Wellington made up St. Pius’s tally, as Victoria could one reply with one. This means that St. Pius will continue to hold their place at the top of Group ‘C’.
Marian Academy was a team to watch, as they played an impressive defensive game to ensure that their lone goal from Louis Da Silva was enough to win them the encounter against Smiths Memorial.
Timehri Primary was also in the winning circle with a similar 1-0 win over Sophia. Their lone goal came off the boots of Jason Williams.
North Georgetown Primary cemented their spot at the top of Group ‘H’ after a 2-1 victory over Soesdyke. Their success can be attributed to Cristino Rodiou and Martha Chance, who scored one goal each.
Plaisance was another team which continued in their victorious habits, as they defeated Clonbrook 2-0 owing to goals from Jerimiah Marks and Ezra Clarks.
Try as they might, Beterverwagting were no match for Golden Grove. With one goal from Jaden Harris, it was not enough to measure up to Golden Grove’s four in the form of Troy Andrews’s one and Bryan Wharton’s hat trick.
Mae’s Primary proved to be strong contenders after another massive win. This time they registered a 4-0 win against Ann’s Grove. Mike Holder’s double and one a piece from Gamaliel Phillips and Davill Charles contributed to Mae’s tally.
Continuing on a winning streak, St. Agnes shaved past St. Ambrose with a 1-0 win. Their lone goal this week came from consistent striker Justin Alcindor.
A nil-all draw saw St Margaret’s sharing points with Goed Fortuin, while Enterprise were awarded a walkover in their encounter against Redeemer.
Also in walkovers, the reigning champions enjoyed a walkover against St Stephen’s, South Ruimveldt got a walkover against Grove, and La Parfait Harmonie also got a walkover when Craig Primary failed to show.
