Police Sports Club could take their successful run in this competition into a third straight win but this time they will have to contend with the likes of powerhouse and reigning champions the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) today. And though they are playing home the Lawmen would not start as favourites to prevail in this clash.

But because of the absence of DCC’s top players like Tevin Imlach, Sherfane Rutherford and Raymond Perez, Police would be optimistic of a win. In order to manifest that win they have to execute correctly because without the presence of their marquee players DCC will still field a strong team.

Police is a confident unit and has won their first two games against minnows Diplomats and Sophia. Their win was due to a team effort and they will come out as a confident team looking to dispose of their opponents.

If Kevin Leitch gets it right and face more than fifty deliveries in the match then it will be game on at the Eve Leary ground.

The odds are against Police but it is certainly expected to be a keen challenge.

Also on Saturday Everest Cricket Club will host Third Class, Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will also play at home to University of Guyana (UG), Transport Sports Club (TSC) will visit Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) AND Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) and Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) is finally expected to open their campaign as they clash at the GNIC ground at Woolford Avenue.

Meanwhile on Sunday the action is expected to continue with four matches. Diplomat and Sophia will play at a neutral venue, the DCC ground in Queenstown, TSC and Ace Warriors are set to battle at another neutral venue, Eve Leary Ground, MSC will visit GYO and GCC will host GNIC.

All matches are scheduled for a 9:30 hours start.
