Police in Regional Division Eight are investigating the discovery of a quantity of suspected cannabis found during an operation conducted at School Street, Mahdia, Region Eight (Potaro-Siparuni), on Saturday.
According to Police, the discovery was made between 05:10h and 05:50h while ranks were carrying out searches in the area.
During the exercise, officers found a large black plastic bag concealed between two car tyres among shrubs and plants. The bag contained leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Further searches led to the discovery of two additional bulky black plastic bags and one transparent plastic bag containing several small transparent Ziploc parcels. All of the packages contained leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The narcotic was taken to the Mahdia Police Station, where it was weighed and amounted to 745 grams. No arrests have been made in connection with the discovery.
