Vendor slapped with ganja possession charge

A 24-year-old vendor from Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, has been charged with possession of narcotics following his appearance before the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court.
Jarod Granville, of Henrietta, was charged with possession of 23.5 grams of cannabis. The offence was allegedly committed at Public Justice and was laid under Section 4(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
Granville appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir on Thursday, when the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty to the allegation and was granted $150,000 bail. As part of his bail conditions, Granville is required to report to the Anna Regina Police Station on the last Friday of every month pending the outcome of the matter.
The case was adjourned to June 12.
