Courts Optical Pee Wee tournament kicks off today with 18 matches

The 2026 Courts Optical Boys’ Under-11 School Football Tournament kicks off today with a packed 18-match programme at the Ministry of Education Ground on Carifesta Avenue.
Play begins at 11:00h, with 32 schools from Georgetown and Regions One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, and Seven set to compete in the tournament. The teams have been divided into eight groups of four for the opening stage.
St John and Queenstown will contest one of the opening matches, while Agatash will face Redeemer, and Batavia will oppose Ann’s Grove.
The noon session will see Smith Memorial playing Genesis, Potaro taking on Lichfield Primary and Waramuri Primary battling Clonbrook.

Three more matches are scheduled for 13:00h. Santa Rosa will face St Therese’s, GIA Harpy Eagle will meet Stella Maris, and Tucville will oppose Kabakaburi.
Defending champions Leonora will begin their campaign against Soesdyke at 14:00h. Goes Fortuin will also play Pakuri Primary, while FE Pollard will meet GIA Arapaima.
At 15:00h, St Gabriel’s will face Belladrum, West Primary will oppose St Aloysius and Colaaco will battle St Pius.
The opening day will conclude with three fixtures at 16:00h. Marian Academy will play St Stephen’s, Santa Rosa will return for their second match against Ann’s Grove, and Waramuri Primary will meet Genesis.
Santa Rosa, Batavia, Ann’s Grove, and St Therese’s form Group A, while Marian Academy, GIA Harpy Eagle, Stella Maris, and St Stephen’s make up Group B.
Group C contains Waramuri Primary, Smith Memorial, Genesis and Clonbrook, while defending champions Leonora are joined by St Gabriel’s, Belladrum, and Soesdyke in Group D.
Potaro, Tucville, Kabakaburi, and Lichfield Primary are in Group E, with West Primary, FE Pollard, GIA Arapaima, and St Aloysius placed in Group F.
Group G consists of Agatash, Goes Fortuin, Pakuri Primary, and Redeemer, while Colaaco, St John, Queenstown, and St Pius complete Group H.
