CWI President to attend GCB Awards ceremony

Cricket West Indies (CWI) President Dave Cameron is expected to grace the 2017 Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Awards Ceremony set for December 20 at the Umana Yana.
Cameron, the long-standing CWI head was named as Guest Speaker for the annual even which pays homage to its male and female cricketers as well as the journalist involved in the sport.

While Guyana has had a phenomenal 2017 in cricket at all levels, it is yet to be confirmed who are the likely frontrunners for the coveted Male and Female cricketers of the year.
Guyana Jaguars Captain and West Indies Test player Leon Johnson was the 2016 winner along with his female counterpart; Guyana and West Indies female all-round star Shemaine Campbelle; who justified their wins with brilliant individual performances at the regional and international level.
West Indies U19 opener Bhaskar Yadram, who is currently with the West Indies U19 World Cup squad, was the Junior cricketer of the year for 2016 while the National U19 and Jaguars senior team were adjudged top teams of the calendar year.
The 2017 Awards ceremony its set to commence from 19:00hrs and will feature a number of the country’s top players, journalists, stakeholders and dignitaries.
