Deokie aims to maintain Sports Tuner dominance

Race car driver Daniel Deokie has one goal and that is to win come April 2 when the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) hosts its National Race of Champions meet at the South Dakota Circuit.

“I’ll be racing in the sports tuner as well as Group 2 category but my main focus is on the sports tuner class which I dominated in November and looking to continue with that momentum into the 2017 season,” the driver said in speaking to Guyana Times Sport.

He added that consistency will be necessary for him as he continues to evolve with this newly built machine.

The team ER Racing driver is looking forward to the stiff competition expected, stating that “always love some sort of competition which was never short through my career so far.”

Questioned on the possibility of touring in the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships considering the season commences on May 21 in Jamaica, Deokie responded stating, “Touring would be a dream come through for me but that all depends on sponsorship.”

In that regard, the driver expressed immense appreciation for the support of Toucan Industries, Guyoil (super 95 gas), Payless Variety Store, A girls, Robbie’s Jewelry and D&G Foreign Auto.

With some tweaks to his to his suspension, Deokie and his Honda Civic can certainly thrill the crowd with excitement and seeks to remain in the top.
