Digicel’s 7th annual Duck Curry Competition on this Sunday at Number 63 Beach

Following a successful competition in 2016 which saw Bombay Masala mixing its way to the winning 6th annual Digicel’s Duck Curry Competition; this year, the telephone giant has planned another competition with more excitement, fun and entertainment.
The 7th annual Digicel’s Duck Curry Competition is billed for this Sunday, October 29 at the Number 63 Beach, Corentyne, Berbice, and will see the winning carting off with more than million in cash and other prizes.
Last year, the Bombay Masala team, led by Bramha Persaud of the National Television Network (NTN), walked away with the top prize of 5,000. The last competition also saw 20 teams from Georgetown, Demerara and Berbice participating.
The participants are to take to the venue a minimum of 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds) of duck meat which must be marinated and cooked at the venue. They are also required to take along their cooking utensils and ingredients.
The organisers of the event will be given a ready-to-use stove. The cooking kicks off at 11:00h but the judging will commence at 14:30h.
However, as the sun sets, the party will commence with the stage show featuring Trinidadian Chutney singer, Sally Sagram and Guyana’s own Jumo “Rubber Waist” Primo. Music will be provided by Crown Vibes.
There will also be several other attractions for the entire family. Admission to the event is absolutely free.
