Dindyal earns Amazon Warriors call-up for GSL

Promising Guyanese top-order batsman Mavendra Dindyal has been drafted into the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) squad for the ongoing ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL), replacing all-rounder Keemo Paul, who has joined the West Indies Test squad for the home series against Pakistan.
The 21-year-old continues his rapid rise through the ranks of Guyanese and West Indies cricket after impressing at both the youth and first-class levels. Dindyal’s inclusion provides him with a valuable opportunity to showcase his talent alongside and against some of the game’s leading T20 players on home soil.
A right-handed top-order batsman who typically occupies the number three position, Dindyal has represented the West Indies Academy, Guyana Harpy Eagles, Guyana Under-19s, and West Indies Under-19s during his young career. He is also a handy right-arm off-spinner, capable of contributing.
According to his first-class statistics, Dindyal has played seven matches, scoring 304 runs at an average of 27.63, including several composed middle-order innings. With the ball, he has claimed three wickets.
The call-up comes at a significant moment for the young batsman, who has steadily built a reputation as one of Guyana’s brightest batting prospects. His sound technique and temperament have seen him progress through the regional development pathway, earning opportunities with the West Indies Academy and the Guyana Harpy Eagles.
Dindyal replaces Keemo Paul after the experienced all-rounder was selected in the West Indies squad for the first Test against Pakistan, creating an opportunity for another local talent to gain invaluable experience in one of the Caribbean’s premier franchise tournaments.
GAW will be hoping Dindyal can make the most of his opportunity as they continue their campaign in pursuit of another Global Super League title.
